Round about the caldron go;
In the poisoned entrails throw.
Toad, that has spent
Thirty one days and nights under cold stone,
From whose sweat a sleeping venom was gotten,
Boil you first in the charmed pot!

Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

Make the gruel thick and slab…Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. Gurgling. Chanting. Judging by the stockpile and the pandemonium of the witches’ playground – this is quite an abominable concoction. Call it a cooking inferno! And a thin watery porridge. The gruel that is!

Feu, brûle ; et chaudière, bouillonne.

La marmite enchantée
Rendez la bouillie épaisse et visqueuse...Bouillez et écumez comme un bouillon d’enfer. Glouglouter. Des incantations. A en juger d'après les réserves et le tohu-bohu des sorcières - c'est toute une concoction abominable. Appelez-le un cuisinant enfer! Et une bouille – un gruau pâteux.

ReplyDeleteI just cooked the oatmeal in milk. It's creamier, though it tends to burn. You can add honey, cinnamon or other goodies :)
